I've put off listing this for sale because I though it was missing something. I've never wanted to finish sumi-e paintings with calligraphy because it doesn't seem right for me (though I've seen lovely calligraphy by western artists) but I do like the idea of the signature being a part of the painting rather than sitting dully beneath it.

Current convention for prints is to write the title, number and signature beneath the print- this doesn't happen for originals often, and I've often seen paintings 'signed' with a monogram or icon.. So I though I'd hand carve some little pictograms for this print.

The bee I've had since I was a kid- I was doing my GCSEs when I decided I should stamp it on all my work in lieu of a signature- finally got round to it.
